As we all wait for Joy's "new birthday" (the day she receives her new organs); I have a question for everyone. Do you have your organ/tissue donor card filled out? When a sudden death occurs and everyuone is in shock - it is a hard time to think about donating organs - so please think about it now. One donor can help as many as 50 people. Such a precious gift to each of these people. What good are the organs going to do for the person who has lost his/her life? And yes you can still have an open casket for the deceased person and no one will know - unless you tell them - that the organs were donated.
Today there are over 99,000 people on organ/tissue waiting list. Please fill our your organ/tissue donor card and talk about it with your family and friends. For more information you can visit the web site www.organdonor.gov.
I'm sure your signed donor card would put a smile on Joy's face.
My brother-in-law received a liver years ago - we are so glad that he is with us today - because of a donated liver.
